Rose (Graziano) ‘Nally’ Michaud, 89

Rose (Graziano) “Nally” Michaud, 89, of Bristol, died on Tuesday, July 18, at Livewell, Plantsville. Rose was born March 11, 1934, in Bristol and was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosina (Rozzi) Graziano.

Rose was a lifelong Bristol resident and a devout parishioner of St. Anthony Church, where she was a graduate of St. Anthony Grammar School and was immensely proud to have been a member of the first graduating class of St. Anthony High School.

Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Vocational Technical Education Program for the State of Connecticut. Before beginning her career with Vo-Tech, Rose volunteered for many community organizations which were dear to her heart, including the PTO at Greene-Hills School, the Forestville Boy’s Club and Meals-on Wheels.

Rose cared deeply for her community and for those organizations that provided a haven for all children. Rose was a loving, kind, and caring daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who cared beyond measure for everyone, and her devotion to her family and friends was extraordinarily rare and beautiful.

Rose is survived by her four children, Karen Misluk of Belfast, Maine, Anthony Michaud and wife, Chelsea of Southington, Kathy Veneziano Mancini and her husband, Jack of Southington, and Donna Masotti and her husband, Robert of Higganum; two sisters: Lucy Christopher of Bristol, and Elizabeth Pratt of Avon; nine cherished grandchildren; nine beloved great-grandchildren; her lifelong best friend: Tina Zuk of Bristol; her dearest friend, Vicki Ziotas of Forestville; and many much-loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: Michelina, Guiseppi, Lisandrine, Josephine, Antoinette, Antonio, and Phillip; and her beloved grandson: Joseph Veneziano.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 22, at 9 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.

Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Friday between 5 and 7 PM. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff at LiveWell, particularly the dedicated staff of the 1A Community, for the many years of gentle kindness and compassionate care they have provided to Rose.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
