Black Lives Matter potluck at Rockwell July 5

Details from the Melina Floyd FaceBook page promoting the July 5 event at Rockwell.

Melina Floyd, who has arranged several area Black Lives Matter rallies over the past month, and Leah Perri, who has worked along with Floyd planning the rallies, are holding a “Black & Proud Educational Potluck” at the Rockwell Park amphitheater on Sunday, July 5 at 3 p.m.

The event is open to the public.

The potluck as advertised on Floyd’s Facebook page encourages people to bring food, signs, chairs, blankets and water; to wear a mask and to pick up after themselves; and to social distance.

As with previous programs, the afternoon will begin with an open invitation for people to share their stories. An additional feature of this rally is that material on systemic racism and community involvement will be distributed.
