Concert at Rockwell is a huge hit

By Rit Carter

The Rockwell Park summer concert series returned Tuesday night to the amphitheater with a large, enthusiastic audience to see Soul Sound Revue.

From the first notes of the opening tune, Signed, Sealed DeliveredI’m Yours, the crowd was singing and dancing.

With the drums and bass laying down some funky grooves and spot-on vocals and harmonies from its three lead vocalists, the nine-piece piece band recreated Motown hits of the 60s’, 70s, and 80s.  The tight and polished set provided a good vibe throughout.

Jim Pelletier was the opening act. His six-song acoustic set included the Eagles, Def Leppard, and a laid-back cover of the Benny Mardones 80s hit Into the Night.

The free concert series returns on August 10 at 6:30 with Pop/R&B/Disco/Blues artist Lataanya Farrell.

A crowd of several hundred people enjoy the music.
