City Hall open for tonight’s Joint Board and Council meetings; official re-opening Oct. 21

From TBE archive

Tonight’s Joint Board and City Council meetings will be held in the newly-renovated council chambers, marking the first time the building will be open to the public since the renovation project began in April 2022.

The official dedication ceremony for the building and an open house have been scheduled Saturday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m., according to a release from the city.

The release also states that city departments will begin moving back into the building beginning the week of Oct. 23. The city also released a tentative schedule for specific departments to return to the building.

With the exception of the City/Town Clerk’s Office and Registrars, all department moves are expected to be completed by the beginning of November.

The public can continue to visit both the City/Town Clerk and Registrars Offices at temporary City Hall East at 150 Main St. until the end of November. The offices will re-open at City Hall on or about Dec. 7.

Meeting agendas for meeting locations for the months of October and November are available through the city’s website or by signing up to receive meeting notices at http://www.ci.bristol.ct.us/list.aspx#agendaCenter.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
