Bristol man arrested Saturday morning after police standoff

The Bristol Police responded to 66 Pleasant Street at approximately 9:00 a.m. for a report of a disturbance. The investigation determined that a male suspect had threatened a family member.

The threatened family member was able to flee to safety and the male suspect barricaded himself within the residence.

The Central Region Emergency Response Team responded and began negotiations.

During the standoff, a member of the Central Region Emergency Response Team deployed a less than lethal beanbag round striking the male in the thigh, causing a minor injury.

The man was taken into custody and transported to Bristol Health for evaluation.

The suspect was identified as Randy Miner, 48 years old. Miner is charged with Threatening in the 2nd degree, Breach of Peace 2nd Degree, and Interfering with Police.

He is being held on $50,000 cash- surety bond pending arraignment at New Britain Superior Court.
