St. Paul Catholic boys golf wins the city championship over Central and Eastern on Tuesday

BRISTOL – At the annual Bristol City Golf Championships on Tuesday, the program from St. Paul Catholic defeated Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern to capture the title from Chippanee Country Club.

The Falcons shot a combined 324 to get by the Rams (345) and the Lancers (420).

St. Paul Catholic’s Brandon Frye earned medalist honors by shooting 2-over par with a 72.

Teammate Matt Downes also had a day on the green with a 76.

Leading the way for Central as Scott Petrosky who carded a 75 while Joey Pikiell (80) kept pace.

For Eastern, Connor Gimpl (100) led the Kingstreeters.

That match concluded the regular season for the programs.

The Falcons next take part of the Naugatuck Valley League Championships on Thursday from the Watertown Golf Club.

And on June 7, the program takes on the field at the CIAC Division III from Fairview Farms.
