Eleanor (Ingvertsen) Hewitt, 92

Eleanor (Ingvertsen) Hewitt, 92, of Bristol, widow of Thur L. Hewitt, died on Sunday, July 2, at The Pines at Bristol. Ellie was born on Oct. 29, 1930, in Hartford was a daughter of the late Arthur and Eleanor (Donahue) Ingvertsen.

She was raised in Unionville where she graduated from Farmington High School and has been a resident of Bristol since 1950. She and Thur also spent winters in Malabar, Florida, for 20 years. Ellie worked in the Bristol school system as a crossing guard and a health aide and was a parishioner of St. Matthew Church in Forestville.

Ellie is survived by three children: Patricia Fish and husband, Joseph of Unionville, Robert Hewitt and wife, Cindy of Torrington, and Holly Mathias and husband, Ken of Ambridge, Pa.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter: Kathleen Carle, a grandson, Jonathan Hewitt, and her siblings: Gunnar and Eugene Ingvertsen, Mildred Schwartzman, June Szegda, Gladys Godard, and Barbara Piccolello.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave. Bristol, on July 26 prior to the Mass between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.
