Bristol Scoops opened their doors to the public on Friday to a large crowd eager to delight in delectable frozen treats.

“It’s been very busy,” said Jennifer Fedorchick, “and everyone that’s come in has been so nice. It’s fun seeing people so excited to try our ice cream, and it’s been a good opening weekend.”

The Farmington Avenue ice cream store is owned by Jeremy Fedorchick, who recently surprised Jennifer, his wife of 13 years, with the news that they would be opening Bristol Scoops together.

“We had a ribbon cutting ceremony two weeks ago for my husband’s Allstar Weddings business next door,” said Jennifer Fedorchick, “The Mayor was there, the commissioner, my husband, and someone mentioned that there was an ice cream store opening next door. I said, ‘Oh my gosh, who’s doing that?’ Then my husband looks at me and says, ‘We are’. So I just learned about this two weeks ago.”

Mum City’s newest ice cream store offers a variety of flavors, from classics like vanilla and strawberry to bold flavors like sea salt caramel truffle and peanut butter pie. Their menu also features options for those with certain dietary restrictions, including vegan vanilla, non-dairy berry supreme and sugar free mint chocolate chip. The Bristol Scoops menu boasts several unique creations, including stackers, ice cream nachos and flights.

“The flights are any four of our ice cream flavors that you feel like trying,” said Jennifer, “and we’re going to be doing seasonal flights. Right now, we’re doing a camping themed flight that we’re calling Gone Campin’, which includes Maine Black Bear, Fly Fishing Fudge, Moose Tracks and Camp Fire Smores.”

Bristol Scoops exclusively serves Gifford’s Ice Cream, a 5-generation family-owned company based out of Maine. Located at 862 Farmington Ave., Bristol Scoops is open every day from 12 noon to 9 p.m.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
