Good morning, Bristol!

Hello, Bristol. It is Friday, so buckle up for the weekend.

Weather

Chilly. Chance of snow. A dusting, perhaps.

For a guy named Kev or KM

Ya know they say, If you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas.

How many?

The United States produces more than 2 billion pens a year. Worldwide it is estimated that 15 million are sold every day.

Loudest noise

Several GMB staff members are fond of noise, and they discovered that according to the Guinness Book of World Records, the loudest noise ever recorded occurred on Aug. 27, 1883, when the island volcano Krakatoa, in the Sunda Strait between Sumatra and Java, Indonesia, exploded.

The noise was heard 3,100 miles away, and it is estimated that it covered 8 percent of the Earth’s surface.

How about that?

Spencer Silver (a member of the National Inventors Hall of Fame) invented Post-it Notes in the 1970s.

‘It’s time for Dodger baseball!’

Speaking of Vin Scully, let’s have him close us out today…

“As long as you live, keep smiling because it brightens everybody’s day.”

See ya, Bristol. Don’t forget to brush and floss.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
