Holy Cross girls remain perfect, defeat St. Paul Tuesday night, 73-52

Basketball

The Holy Cross girls captured the momentum from the opening tip and never looked back in running their record to 14-0, beating St. Paul 73-52 Tuesday night in Waterbury.

Holy Cross was led by two big nights from Cayla Howard (26 pts.) and Mya Zacagnini (21 pts.). The Crusaders jumped out to a 21-12 lead in the first quarter, and they just built on that lead after that. They were dominant on defense, as they did not allow a single St. Paul hoopster to score in double figures.

The Falcons were led by Audrey Tice and Nadia Reimer with 8 points apiece.

St. Paul drop to 9-3 with the defeat. They next host Wolcott on Thursday at 7:00.
