Motorcycle accident Thursday leads to serious injuries

Bristol police released the following today:

On Tuesday at approximately 6:27 p.m., the Bristol Police Department responded to a serious motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

The initial investigation showed that the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Jerome Avenue in the area of Sturbridge Court and the operator failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The motorcycle left the roadway and crashed, causing the operator to sustain serious injuries.

Upon Officers’ arrival, they provided medical aid until EMS services were able to stabilize the motorcycle operator for transport to a local hospital. The operator is described as a 27 year old male and his identity has not been released.

The Bristol Police Department Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team later responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. If you witnessed or have any knowledge of the crash, please contact Officer K. Verillo at (860) 584-3031.
