Tuesday City council agenda includes Sessions Property and ARP funding allocation

The city council will meet Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Bristol Board of Education Auditorium, immediately following the Joint Board meeting at 6:45 p.m.

Among the items the council will address are two resolutions, one regarding tax liens on the New Colony Development Corp., which is developing the Sessions Property on Riverside Avenue, and a second, involving the title and a partnership with the city for the purposes of remediating the property.

Also, storm drainage contracts and adjustments to the renovation of city hall will also be considered and voted on.

In addition, other business includes approving a letter of intent between the city and Verogy, LLC, regarding a virtual net meeting agreement, and several grants, one of which with the state department of transportation is in the amount of $262,442.

A contract with H.F. Lenz Co. and educational funds from the American Rescue Plan is also on the agenda, involving $349,000.

The fate of the ordinance regarding the sale of recreational cannabis will not be on the agenda, as another Ordinance Hearing is scheduled for Thursday at the Bristol Library followed by a special City Council meeting next week.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
