Funny line

“Our country is held together by hundreds of really talented legislative aids. Their bosses, many times, are wind up dolls… if you go down there, especially the Senate, is like an assisted living facility.”

Jon Stewart

On this date in 1932

In the North End of town, The Flashes beat the Farmers Feed Juniors 18-17 and the Comets defeated St. Stanislaus 20-19 in a junior basketball tournament games.

Just 33 years later and completely unrelated

Bristol Eastern held “A Fair to Remember.” Sponsored by the Eastern Girls League, the various clubs and organizations at BE set up booths for games and prizes and to sell the knickknacks made by the groups. Included in the layout was a miniature golf course.

They said it (Pinky and the Brain)

The Brain: This is the earth. And this is Pinky. You can tell the difference quite easily. One is a lump of inert matter hurtling blindly through the void. The other… is the earth.

Big Ben this is the Rubber Duck

We’ll catch ya on the flip-slide, Bristol. This here’s the Rubber Duck on the side.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
