Maureen ‘Moe’ Acampora, 83

Maureen “Moe” Acampora, 83, of Bristol, loving wife of Salvatore Acampora, passed away on Sunday, April 24, with her husband and children at her side.

Maureen was born on Oct. 31, 1939, the beloved daughter of the late Nick and Rita (Cote) Colette. Maureen was a proud graduate of St. Anthony High School in Bristol and St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Waterbury. She worked for many years as an Operating Room Nurse for Bristol Hospital, where she loved caring for patients with a team of wonderful colleagues and friends.

In addition to Salvatore, her husband of 59 years, Maureen is survived by her son, Paul Acampora, and his wife Deborah; daughter, Michelle Acampora, and her husband, Ernie; grandchildren Nicholas and Gabrielle; plus many nieces, nephews, and in-laws along with a host of extended family and special friends who she loved dearly. Along with her parents, Maureen is predeceased by her brother Joe Colette.

Calling hours will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, June 10 at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Avenue in Bristol followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 120 Church Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
