Bristol Eastern cruises to volleyball win over Middletown Friday night

After several matches against some of the best volleyball powers in Connecticut, the Bristol Eastern volleyball team got a bit of a breather as they easily defeated an overmatched Middletown group Friday night.

The Lancers won in three straight sets, 25-10, 25-8, and 25-3.

Eastern coach Stefanie Reay was able to put many different combinations on the floor as every member of the Lancer team got a chance to play.

Eastern was paced by Emily Valentine, who served up 12 aces and had 5 digs. Emma Cratella had an ace, a kill, and a dig. And Jamayrie McRae-Arroyo chipped in with a kill and a dig.

Eastern’s record jumps to 10-3 with the win, while Middletown drops to 6-7.

The Lancers play next against Platt in Meriden on Monday at 6:00.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have no limits.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
