Annual HIV/AIDS Education Forum offers training opportunity

On Wednesday, April 28, professionals involved in HIV/AIDS prevention and care are invited to attend the annual HIV Educational Forum sponsored by Bristol Mayor’s Task Force on HIV/AIDS & HCV and held on Zoom.

This event has an overall theme of “Getting to Zero” but will also cover COVID-19, Health Disparities and Health Equity, and progress made on PrEP.

In Connecticut, over 10,000 people are currently living with HIV/AIDS. Although newer treatments are increasing life expectancy, there is still much to know about long-term infection and also new infections.

The Forum will be held on Zoom at no charge. Registration must be completed through the Google form below. Zoom links will be sent to the registrant’s email address shortly before the event.

The event will open at 8:30 a.m. with presentations beginning at 8:45 a.m. and ending at noon.

The Bristol Mayor’s Task Force on HIV/AIDS was formed 30 years ago and continues to have representative membership from consumers, medical, social service and treatment providers and Bristol residents. The group meets monthly and plans five events per year.

For further information about the event, please visit the Task Force Facebook page, City of Bristol Mayor’s Task Force on HIV/AIDS or contact the Chairperson, Alice Ferguson at 860.718.5315.

Registration for the event can be completed through this link which is also found on the Facebook page. Continuing education credits are being applied for through the Connecticut Certification Board.
