Good morning, Bristol!

Here we are. We survived another Monday without any casualties. And Tuesday will be a day to remember, we hope. It is one more step toward Friday, and that can’t be all bad.

Tuesday’s weather

Partly cloudy skies during the morning will give way to occasional showers in the afternoon. High near 70F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 m.p.h. Chance of rain- 50 percent.

This day in history

In 1755, Nathan Hale was born. As he was facing being hanged by the British, he said the famous words, “I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country.” He was only 21 when he died.

On June 6, 1944, during World War II, Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, on “D-Day” as they began the liberation of German-occupied Western Europe.

American League East standings

Tampa Bay is only 6 and 1/2 games ahead of the Yankees. And the Red Sox are only 12 games behind the Rays and in last place, sinking fast. Can we cancel the season now?

On that hopeful note, we bid you adieu.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
