Morning rains bring flooding

The national weather service reported early this morning that thunderstorms brought between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain to Hartford County, leading to significant basement flooding in Simsbury and Bristol. In addition, the announcement warned of “flash flooding of small creeks and streams, …, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas,” which is evident from these photos of Harry C.
