Palma Morin, 100

Palma (Papapietro) Morin, 100, of Bristol, widow of George A. Morin, Sr., passed away in her sleep on Sunday, Feb. 19, at Ingraham Manor. Palma was born in Bristol on April 9, 1922, and was one of two daughters of the late Vito and Mary (Pierro) Papapietro. 

A lifelong Bristol resident, she was a graduate of Bristol High School and a member of The Greatest Generation. She worked for Rowley Spring until retirement.  She enjoyed ceramics and was also a gifted painter working for Hinchcliffe Studios converting portraits into paintings.

Palma tried to feed everyone she came into contact with. She was famous for Monday night pasta dinners. Her motto was: “Just dig in, the more the merrier.” She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Parish devoted to St. Anthony Church, Bristol.

Palma is survived by three children: Pamela Messier of Bristol, George Morin, Jr. and wife, Susan of Pawcatuck, and David Morin of Bristol; son-in-law: David Jabs of Bristol; six grandchildren: Jacob Morin, Kaitlyn Tetreault and husband, Matthew, Jason Messier and wife, Michele, Ryan Messier and wife, Tracey, Scott Messier and partner, Shirlee Alcock, and Christopher Jabs and wife, Lori; six beloved great-grandchildren: Abigail, Nicholas, Olivia, Brooke, Alyssa, and Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a daughter: Barbara Jabs; grandson: Jonathan Jabs; her sister: Angela Duggan; and son-in-law: Ronald Messier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.

Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Saturday prior to Mass between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.
