AVON – In a rare weekend swimming jaunt, the Bristol boys swimming & diving co-op earned its first victory of the season, downing Avon by a  114-71 victory in a Region D tilt.

The victory improved the Bristol outfit to 1-2 overall.

“We swam hard and achieved 25 season best times today at Cornerstone” in Avon said Bristol coach Adrienne Bentley.

And first place finishers were found all over the board for the Bristol Central/Bristol Eastern/St. Paul Catholic squad.

Davis Kroll won the 200 free and 100 free event while teammate Gabriel Bartolome (200 IM and 100 back) was a duel victor as well.

Also for Bristol, Mikel Palaj took the 50 free and Colton Litwinczyk was the top finisher in both the 100 fly and 100 breast events.

The 200 Medley Relay team of Aidan Collins, Litwinczyk, Noah Taylor and Bartolome won its event and the 200 Free relay squad of Litwinczyk, Drew Fries, Collins and Palaj were victorious as well.

And in the 400 Free relay, the grouping of Palaj, Kroll, Fries and Bartolome made it a clean sweep for the Mum City swimmers.

Several other athletes also performed well reported Bentley.

“Additional great swims [by] Miles Jennings, Ryleigh Dionne, Aidan Collins, Konrad Truszkowski and Drew Fries [all] dropped a considerable amount in time in both of their events.”

This Wednesday, the Bristol swimming and diving co-op square off against Southington at 3:45 p.m.
