Eastern volleyball defeats Avon in 4 sets

Bristol Eastern defeated Avon in volleyball Monday in 4 sets. Avon won the first set, 25-21, as Eastern lost only its second set of the season.

From that point, the Lancers took control, sweeping the final three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-13, and 25-22. In the victory, Eastern runs its record to 7-0, and Avon falls to 5-2.

The Lancers were led by Zoe Lowe with 17 kills and 15 digs, and Sage Scarritt with 10 kills and 3 aces. Leah Chipman had a huge day with 42 assists, 2 kills, and 4 aces.

Avon’s Jocee Powers had 18 assists and Eliza Jones had 6 kills, with 2 blocks.

Eastern’s next game is Thursday, October 22, against Plainville in the Lancerdome.

Tuesday afternoon will be a big one at Bristol Eastern as both the Boys and Girls Soccer teams have home games on the 2 front fields. The boys will host crosstown rival Bristol Central, and the girls will face Avon. The games will take place on the 2 front fields on King Street.
