Domenica ‘Maggie’ Doty

Domenica “Maggie” Doty, of Hoschton, Ga., formerly of Bristol, widow of Wilfred “Bill” Doty, died on Saturday, June 25. Maggie was born on March 15, 1928, in Bristol where she lived in all her life except for the last eight years living in Georgia. 

Maggie was a hard worker and worked several places in Connecticut to provide for her family. Her career spanned from Marlin Rockwell (TRW) in Plainville, Wasley Products in Plainville, and Sessions Clock in Forestville.

Both Maggie and her husband, Bill, had many friends throughout their lives and enjoyed spending time with them all over the years. They enjoyed going out to dinner, golfing, and going on cruises. Bill loved to tend to his vegetable garden and Maggie would cook exceptional meals with the harvest.

Maggie leaves behind a daughter: Carolyn LaRosa; a son: Daniel “Dan” Doty; a daughter-in-law: Rebecca Doty; a grandson: Max Doty; and a granddaughter-in-law: Mary Jinglewski, all of Georgia. She also leaves two sisters: Lucy LaMonico of Burlington, and Ann Grossi of Bristol, and several nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the Connecticut region. Her deceased parents were Palma and Donato DeCrisantis of Bristol.

Maggie’s family will receive relatives and friends at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Friday, July 1, between 10 a.m. and 12 noon followed by a prayer service at 12 noon in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. The family are inviting those in attendance to join them for a reception at 150 Central Restaurant, 150 Central St., Bristol.
