Doris Patricia Camden, 88

Doris Patricia Camden, 88 of Bristol, passed away on Monday, June 26. She was born on Dec. 28, 1934, in Kensington, daughter of the late Antonio and Anna (Pavano) Amenta. Doris dedicated multiple years to the United Parcel Services in which she eventually retired.

Doris was a devote Catholic who dedicated her life to the Lord. Second to Christ her family was the next most important thing to her. Being the head of our family, we all looked to Nana for guidance as she was one of the strongest most caring women we have ever known.

If anyone of us needed anything we always knew we could call Nana and she would give you the red sweater off her back. She will truly be missed. We each carry a special place for Nana in our hearts but we know she is at peace, pain free and is resting with her loved ones.

Doris is survived by her daughter Debra Ann Lenentine of New Britain; sister Rose Lucenti of Bristol; six grandchildren Jennifer Dorbuck, Jonathan Toro, Matthew Toro, Jacquelin Dorbuck, Christina Toro, Daniel Toro; nine great-grandchildren Anthony Owens, Jacob Tully, Leeanna Toro, Maurice Turner, Jenna Tully, Zaire Neal, Bella Toro, Joshua Tully & Zion Neal; two great great-grandchildren Olivia Amenta and Nikko Owens, and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her daughter Robin Ann Dorbuck, brothers Sebastian, Joseph and Paul Amenta and sisters Josephine Bober, Connie Cappello and Angelina Gianinni.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 3, starting at 9 a.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave. Bristol, until a procession that will leave for St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol, for an 11 a.m. Memorial Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St., New Britain.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Cancer.org.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
