Memorial Boulevard reopens to traffic May 26

To close temporarily for grad ceremonies June 8 and 9

Effective on Tuesday, May 26th, the City of Bristol will re-open the lower half of Memorial Boulevard to traffic, the city announced in a press release Thursday.

At the same time, the city announced the boulevard will be closed again during the morning commute June 8 and 9 for ceremonies associated with the graduating classes of 2020.

The Board of Education will host a drive-through tribute to graduating seniors from Bristol Eastern High School, Bristol Central High School and the Bristol Preparatory Academy.

This reopening coincides with the State’s Phase 1 re-opening plan and, also, to alleviate traffic congestion from construction on Riverside Ave., according to the release.

The boulevard will remain closed over Memorial Day weekend.
