Marek ‘Mark’ Nowak

Marek S. “Mark” Nowak, 59, of Bristol, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 12.

Mark was born in Hartford on Aug. 10, 1962, and was a son of the late Leonard Nowak, Sr. and Jean (Pileski) Nowak. A longtime Bristol resident, he attended Bristol Eastern High School before enlisting to serve in the United States Army.

He was a skilled home remodeling guy who was talented in all phases. He was always there to help family and friends in need. Mark was a die-hard Boston Red Sox, New York Giants and UConn Huskies fan. He was an awesome cook who loved to fish and hunt in his spare time.

Mark is survived by his siblings: Leokadia Cheng and husband Anthony, Barbara Nowak, Leonard Nowak, Jr. and wife, Janice, Mary Barlowski and husband, Philip, and Natalie Wentland; daughter: Nicole Rivera; grandchildren: Jeremy and Adrianna; niece, Molly Wentland, nephews, Mike and Nicholas who were the apples of his eye, and Cassie Nowak-Boucher and husband, Scotty; he will be missed also by his great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by brothers-in-law: Scott Wentland and Richard Girardin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, 510 West St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
