Bristol U19 Baseball Goes 3-1 For Week of July 6-12, Duquette Throws No Hitter

Bristol’s U19 Baseball team had a solid week of play, going 3-1 for the week, ending with a overall record of 4-3, good for 5th place in their U19 Division.

In the week’s first game on Monday, July 6, Bristol had their best offensive output of the season, defeating Avon, 8-3. Trevor Mays picked up the win with 6 innings of stellar relief, needing only 80 pitches to get through his six inning stint. Bristol scored 4 in the 5th and 3 in the sixth to break open a tight game.

On Thursday, July 9, Bristol won their second straight with a 4-0 shutout of Newington. Jagger Duquette threw a complete game No-Hitter, totally dominating the strike zone with a nice assortment of pitches. Bristol scored 2 in the first and 2 in the fifth to secure the win.

On Sunday, July 12, Bristol split a doubleheader at Muzzy Field, losing the first, 2-0, and coming back with a 1-0 win in the second game against Cheshire. It was a tough afternoon for scoring runs, as Bristol amassed a grand total of 1 run in 14 innings. Trevor Mays was the tough-luck loser in the first game, giving up only the 2 runs in the final 2 innings. Jacobi Bouchard spun a gem in the 2nd game, giving up only 3 hits in a complete game performance.

Berlin continues to lead Bristol’s division with a record of 7-2. Bristol is still very much in the chase, standing only 2 games behind after the first two weeks of the season.
