Apps available to ease the pain of buying gas

By Rit Carter

As gas prices continue to soar and ravage the pockets of Bristol’s residents, everyone is searching for the cheapest prices in town from Rte. 6 to Rte. 229 and all parts in between.

What battered motorists pay at the pump has increased for a variety of reasons affecting supplies and ultimately consumers. The price at filling stations across the country has reached the highest levels since 2008, according to AAA, with $5.0164 the average for regular unleaded. In Connecticut, the average for regular unleaded is $4.984.

Using apps like GasBuddy or Gas Guru to locate stations with the lowest prices in the area will help alleviate some of the agony felt at the pump.

The GasBuddy App can be found either on Apple’s App Store on on Google Play.

Google Play is also home to Gas Guru.
