Enforcement of overnight parking ban and unshoveled sidewalks begins early Friday morning

Bristol Police Department will be enforcing the overnight parking ban on public streets this Friday morning at 12 a.m., it was announced in a release earlier today.

In addition, the announcement reminds residents that sidewalks need to be cleared of snow after storms. Violations for each will involve ticketing.

No vehicles may park on any city street between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Parking tickets per overnight violation are $20. The fine doubles after 7 days and triples after 14 days.

Sidewalks need to be cleared of snow anytime after a winter storm occurs. If a storm ends between the hours of 3 a.m. and 9 p.m., all sidewalks must be cleared within 12 hours. If the storm ends between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m., all sidewalks must be cleared within nine hours.

Tickets may be paid over the phone, (860) 584-3061, with a credit/debit card or at the Police Dept. front desk with exact cash. Payment may also be made online at City of Bristol CT Police, invoicecloud.com. Do not send cash through the mail.

The overnight parking ban ends on March 15, 2024.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
